(Review) Chanel Blue Serum

Honest thoughts about putting RM400 worth of stuff on my face.

My old serum was Pore Corset Serum from Skinmiso which I bought from Althea. It was kinda expensive for me but I bought it anyways coz I thought it'd be great for my gigantic pores and oily skin. But, it was nothing great. It didn't break me out, but it was just nothing. My pores were pretty much the same. It was hydrating tapi itu je la. Very meh. So I gave it away to my lil sis who has wayyyy bigger pores and much more greasy than I am lol.

So, I went thru my beauty stash to replace that serum and...I found this. I got this last year from an event with one of my fav ig influencers Faa Firds. Tengok la makeup aku. Garang noks 😘

Anyways, here are some pics of the serum (feat. cadar cute roommate aku haha)

A+ for packaging!

After taking these pics, I googled for some info about it. How much is it, is the product blue, what skin type suits this serum, things like that. And I got all the info I want in here. And I terkejowtt harga dia RM400 😭😭. Memang tak la aku nak beli sendiri hahaha. Nasib baik dapat free, boleh la merasa jadi mak datin fefeeling tepek Chanel atas muka.

Anyways lagi, unfortunately the Blue Serum isn't really blue. Which is kinda disappointing coz if it’s really blue, that’d be so cool. It’s opaque white. It has the name “blue” coz it contains ingredients from “blue zones”. As you can see in the pic, the blue zones are Nicoya in Costa Rica, Sardinia in Italy, Ikaria in Greece and Okinawa in Japan. It is said that people who live in these regions, live better and longer. So I guess this serum targets old people? Jkjk. I know it promotes anti-aging haha.

Blue Zones

It's not blue 😭

Now, here's what I think of this product. This is my first time ever using expensive skincare and I will try to be honest.

It's just okay. Really. I thought the price point gonna make my skin flawless like a baby's butt cheeks but nah. It is hydrating, it absorbs quickly but I notice it is a bit waxy(?). Most probably due to the dimethicone. My skin gets oily faster and my pores get really visible by noon (if I'm applying it after my morning showers). I used to apply this after my usual toner and before my essence. I wasn't so sure if it is too much for my skin so I skipped the essence and the results were kinda like the same. So, I only use this for my night routines, where my skincare are "heavier" than those that I use during day time. Of course I'd wake up with a shiny face but I love it after I cleanse.

Oh, it has a floral powdery scent. To me it's kinda strong and the scent stays for few minutes before it dissipates.

Verdict: It is an "okay" product. It's hydrating but a bit heavy for me. I like that it didn't break me out. Won't repurchase (one, coz it'll cost me a fortune; two, it's not that great). Save your money, buy drugstore products. You can find way better stuff there, and a lot cheaper!

Sekian celoteh hari ini, thank you for reading ❣️
